Lung scope may speed recovery in stroke patients with pneumonia
NCT ID NCT07345078
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at 50 stroke patients who had pneumonia and trouble swallowing. Half received standard care (antibiotics, suctioning), while the other half also got a lung cleaning using a thin, flexible tube called a bronchoscope. Researchers measured breathing, infection levels, and how long patients stayed in the hospital to see if the extra procedure helped them recover faster.
