New hope for kids with 'Silent' seizures: major trial tests promising drug

Summary
This study is testing whether a medication called brivaracetam can safely and effectively control absence seizures in children and young adults aged 2 to 25. Absence seizures cause brief lapses in awareness. The trial involves 153 participants and compares different doses of the drug to a placebo. Researchers will use brain wave recordings and seizure diaries to see if the medication stops the seizures.
