First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether the drug brivaracetam can stop absence seizures in children and young adults aged 2 to 25 with childhood or juvenile absence epilepsy. Participants receive either the drug or a placebo, and doctors measure seizure freedom using a 24-hour brain wave test. The goal is to find a safe and effective treatment that controls seizures without needing lifelong medication.
