New heart pump trial offers hope for advanced heart failure patients

Summary

This study tests a new device called the BrioVAD, a mechanical heart pump for people with advanced heart failure that doesn't respond to standard treatments. About 60 adults with severe symptoms will receive the pump to help their heart pump blood. The main goal is to see how many patients survive for at least 6 months after the procedure.
