Eye drops could replace reading glasses for presbyopia
NCT ID NCT04774237
First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested three different eye drop formulas (BRIMOCHOL, BRIMOCHOL F, and carbachol alone) in 18 adults with presbyopia, the age-related loss of close-up vision. The goal was to see if a single drop could temporarily improve near vision without harming distance vision. Results showed that some participants gained at least 15 letters on a reading chart one hour after using the drops.
