Light therapy could ease cocaine withdrawal symptoms

NCT ID NCT07545798

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether bright light therapy can help people withdrawing from cocaine. Cocaine withdrawal often disrupts sleep and mood, making it hard to stay off the drug. Researchers will give 256 adults either light therapy or a placebo during their hospital stay and track how many days they stay cocaine-free for one month. The goal is to see if light therapy improves comfort and reduces relapse.
