Simple brain game eases haunting memories for COVID-19 frontline workers
NCT ID NCT05616676
First seen May 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tested whether a short digital task could help NHS staff who kept having unwanted, intrusive memories of traumatic events from working during the COVID-19 pandemic. About 122 healthcare workers took part, using either a memory-competing computer game, a music-listening task, or their usual care. The goal was to see if the task could reduce how often these distressing memories popped up and improve overall well-being.
