10-Minute walk or game sharpens student focus after lectures

Summary

This study looked at whether brief physical activity breaks after long lectures can improve attention and thinking in university students. 42 students took part in three different 10-minute breaks: outdoor walking, an exergame (Fruit Ninja), or passive rest. After each break, they completed tests of attention and mental flexibility. The goal was to see if active breaks help students stay sharp during demanding academic days.
