Can a belly shape score predict breathing tube success?
NCT ID NCT07372846
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looks at 90 obese adults to see if a newer body measurement called the Body Roundness Index (BRI) is better than the standard Body Mass Index (BMI) at predicting how easy it is to place a breathing tube. Researchers will compare BRI and BMI to a score that rates airway visibility during a procedure called videolaryngoscopy. The goal is to find a more accurate way to prepare for difficult airways in obese patients.
