Belly shape may predict breathing tube trouble better than BMI
NCT ID NCT07372846
First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study checks if a newer body shape measure (body roundness index, or BRI) can better predict how easy it is to place a breathing tube in obese patients than the standard BMI. About 90 obese adults having planned surgery will be watched. The goal is to see if BRI gives doctors a clearer warning about possible airway challenges.
