Could a warm tube make Kids' surgery safer?
NCT ID NCT06838260
Summary
This study is testing if warming the breathing tube used during a child's tonsil and adenoid surgery can reduce serious breathing complications afterward. Researchers will compare tubes warmed to different temperatures in 250 children having this common surgery. The goal is to see if a simple temperature change can make recovery safer by lowering the risk of airway spasms and low oxygen levels.
