Breathing workout may ease sleep apnea in severe obesity

Summary

This study tests whether a 12-week program of daily breathing exercises using a special device can reduce sleep apnea severity and improve sleep quality in 10 adults with severe obesity (BMI over 40) and obstructive sleep apnea. Participants will train at home, gradually increasing the intensity of their breathing workouts. The goal is to see if this simple, drug-free approach can strengthen breathing muscles and lessen nighttime breathing pauses.
