Can simple breathing exercises help weakened muscles?

NCT ID NCT07274267

Summary

This study is testing whether a 3-month home program of breathing muscle training can help people with inflammatory myopathy, a rare autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness. Thirty-three participants will use a special device to strengthen their breathing muscles, with the goal of improving their ability to walk, reducing fatigue, and enhancing their quality of life. Researchers will measure changes in breathing strength, lung function, and overall physical function.
