Doctors test new breathing tricks to keep surgery patients safer

NCT ID NCT07462689

Summary

This study tested whether adjusting a breathing machine in specific ways could improve oxygen levels in the blood during a common prostate cancer surgery. Researchers compared three different breathing support methods in 58 men undergoing robotic surgery while under general anesthesia. The goal was to find the safest and most effective way to support breathing when the patient is in a steep head-down position during the operation.
