ICU breathing crisis: new study tests Life-Saving alternatives to reinserting tubes
NCT ID NCT05686850
Summary
This study aims to find the best non-invasive breathing support method for ICU patients who develop breathing difficulties after their breathing tube is removed. Researchers will compare two approaches: high-flow nasal oxygen alone versus alternating between high-flow nasal oxygen and non-invasive ventilation. The goal is to determine which method better reduces the need to reinsert breathing tubes and lowers death rates in this vulnerable patient group.
