Augmented reality eyewear aims to help patients stick to crucial breathing therapy

NCT ID NCT07242079

Summary

This study tested if using augmented reality (like special glasses or screens) could help adults with a genetic lung condition called Alpha-1 stick to their prescribed breathing exercises and daily walking. Fifty participants did breathing exercises twice daily and walked at least 5,000 steps a day for six weeks. Researchers wanted to see if the technology made the therapy easier to follow and if it improved breathing, symptoms, and quality of life.
