Can a simple sensor predict when a breathing tube is needed?
NCT ID NCT06675045
Summary
This study aims to understand if changes in a patient's natural breathing pattern can signal when they are getting worse and might need a ventilator. Researchers will use a non-invasive sensor to monitor 60 adults in the ICU who are on high-flow oxygen therapy for severe breathing problems. The goal is to gather information that could one day help doctors decide the best time to switch to more intensive breathing support.
