Supervised breathing exercises may boost lung recovery after heart surgery
NCT ID NCT07343921
Summary
This study compared two approaches to help patients recover lung function after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Thirty-eight patients performed breathing exercises twice daily for three days after surgery—either with direct supervision from healthcare staff or on their own with reminders. Researchers measured lung capacity before and after to see if supervision made a difference in recovery.
