Simple breathing exercise shows promise for boosting core muscles and liver health in seniors

NCT ID NCT07168733

Summary

This study tested whether a simple, four-week breathing exercise program could strengthen core muscles and improve liver health in healthy older women. Twenty-six women aged 60-80 were split into two groups: one used a special breathing trainer twice daily, while the other continued their normal routine. Researchers measured changes in diaphragm and abdominal muscle thickness, as well as liver fat, to see if the breathing exercises made a difference.
