Simple breathing circuit trick may prevent tube displacement in lung surgery

NCT ID NCT06182371

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at 256 people having lung surgery to see if briefly detaching the breathing circuit when moving the patient from lying on their back to their side helps keep the breathing tube in the right spot. The goal was to reduce tube movement and improve recovery. Researchers compared two groups: one with the circuit detached and one with it attached, checking tube position and lung function after the move.
