No more needles? new breath test could revolutionize malaria detection
NCT ID NCT07456969
Summary
This study is testing a new, painless way to diagnose malaria using a person's breath instead of a blood test. Researchers will collect breath samples from 200 people in Ethiopia who have a fever and are suspected of having malaria. They will use a special device to look for chemical markers in the breath that might signal a malaria infection, comparing the results to standard blood tests.
