New program aims to close breastfeeding gap for families of color

NCT ID NCT05441709

Summary

This study is testing if adding trained peer counselors to standard hospital lactation support helps Black and Hispanic/Latine parents breastfeed their babies longer and more often. It will involve about 990 pregnant people in the Chicago area. The goal is to see if this extra support can reduce racial and ethnic disparities in breastfeeding rates.
