Looking back to improve breast reconstruction: does radiation or expander type affect healing?

NCT ID NCT07442838

Summary

This study looks back at the medical records of 88 women who had two-stage breast reconstruction after a mastectomy for breast cancer. The goal is to understand if the type of tissue expander used (nano- or microtextured) or having had radiation therapy before surgery affects the risk of complications. Researchers hope this information will help doctors make better choices for future patients.
