Antibiotic bath for breast implants may prevent painful removal

Summary
This study tests whether rinsing breast implants with a mix of three antibiotics (gentamicin, vancomycin, and cefazolin) during reconstructive surgery can prevent infections and other complications that lead to implant removal. About 1,000 women scheduled for breast reconstruction will be randomly assigned to receive either the antibiotic wash or a placebo (salt water). The main goal is to see if the antibiotic wash reduces the number of implants that must be taken out for any reason.
