Tracking hidden damage: can a simple scan predict swelling after breast cancer treatment?

NCT ID NCT07297927

Summary

This study aims to understand how radiation therapy for breast cancer affects the body's lymphatic drainage system, which can sometimes lead to painful arm swelling called lymphedema. Researchers will use a special imaging dye to map the lymphatic system in 40 patients before and after their standard radiation treatment, looking for early warning signs. The goal is to learn if these early scans can predict who might develop swelling later, so doctors can offer preventive care sooner.
