New scan could reveal breast cancer type without biopsy
NCT ID NCT07275463
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tests a special radioactive tracer called [99mTc]Tc-DB8 to see if it can help identify breast cancer types based on estrogen receptor status. About 40 adults with primary breast cancer will get a SPECT/CT scan after receiving the tracer. The goal is to see if the tracer lights up differently in estrogen receptor-positive versus negative tumors, which could lead to a non-invasive way to guide treatment.
