New hope for devastating breast cancer complication: targeting brain and spine spread

NCT ID NCT06016387

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of targeted radiation to the brain and/or spine, followed by a three-drug therapy, is safe and effective for people with an aggressive form of advanced breast cancer that has spread to the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It will enroll about 30 adults with this specific cancer type to see if the treatment can help them live longer and control the disease in the nervous system. The goal is to find a better way to manage this very serious condition where current survival is often measured in just a few months.
