Common surgical fluid linked to brain bleeding risk?
NCT ID NCT07476404
Summary
This study looked back at 300 patients who had surgery to remove large brain tumors. Researchers wanted to see if a specific fluid (Hydroxyethyl Starch or HES) given during surgery increased the risk of dangerous bleeding afterward or caused kidney problems. By reviewing past medical records, they aimed to help doctors choose safer fluids for future patients.
