New imaging combo could sharpen brain tumor detection
NCT ID NCT07475390
First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests two types of scans—SPECT/CT and PET/CT—to see which one better spots brain tumors (gliomas) in 40 people with new or returning tumors. Participants get both scans within two weeks, and researchers measure how much the imaging agents light up in tumors versus healthy brain tissue. The goal is to improve diagnosis, not to treat the disease.
