Arthritis drug could be new weapon against rare childhood brain tumor

NCT ID NCT05233397

Summary

This study is testing whether an existing arthritis drug called Actemra (tocilizumab) can help control a rare and difficult-to-treat brain tumor in children and young adults. The trial will enroll up to 38 patients aged 1 to 39 years who have a recurrent or progressive tumor called adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma. Researchers will give the drug intravenously every two weeks for up to two years to see if it can shrink or stabilize the tumor.
