Brain zaps & mitt therapy: new hope for babies with weak arms

NCT ID NCT07063446

Summary

This study is testing a new combination therapy for infants (8-24 months old) who have weakness on one side of their body, often an early sign of cerebral palsy. Researchers will pair a gentle nerve stimulation treatment (taVNS) with intensive hand-and-arm play therapy (CIMT) to try to improve movement. They will also use a quick, non-invasive brain scan (sTMS) to see if it can predict which babies will benefit most from the full therapy.
