Brain zapping study finds faster pulses may boost brain power

NCT ID NCT07431697

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of brain stimulation in 22 healthy adults to see if it could increase brain activity more than the standard method. Participants received magnetic pulses to the brain while their brain activity was measured with MRI. The faster stimulation (100Hz) led to stronger and more consistent increases in brain excitability compared to the standard 50Hz method. This research helps scientists understand how to better stimulate the brain for future treatments.
