Brain zaps timed to your own rhythms may boost Hand-Eye control

NCT ID NCT07249801

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This pilot study tests whether personalized brain stimulation can improve hand-eye coordination in people with brain lesions. Researchers will use a technique called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) timed to each person's natural brain rhythms. Twenty adults with upper limb sensorimotor impairment will participate, and the study will measure changes in grip force precision and brain connectivity.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a personalized brain stimulation technique to improve hand-eye coordination after brain injury.

What could go wrong

This is a very early, small pilot study with only 20 participants. It is designed to test feasibility and measure brain changes, not to prove a treatment works. Results may not lead to a practical therapy.
