Zapping the urge: new brain treatment aims to curb teen Self-Harm

NCT ID NCT07486804

Summary

This study is testing whether a combination of two gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation techniques can help reduce self-harm behavior in teenagers. Researchers will see if stimulating nerves in the ear followed by stimulation on the scalp can better reduce impulsive urges and focus on harmful thoughts than one method alone. The goal is to find a more stable and predictable treatment to help control this distressing condition.
