Brain zaps show promise for easing stuttering

NCT ID NCT06278233

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique could help improve speech fluency in adults who stutter. Thirty-six participants received either real or sham brain stimulation for 20 minutes daily over five consecutive days while practicing speech with a metronome. Researchers measured changes in stuttering frequency and severity immediately after treatment and one week later to see if the stimulation provided lasting benefits.
