Zapping the brain to fight Dementia's language thief

NCT ID NCT07158216

Summary

This study is testing whether gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation can help slow down the progression of primary progressive aphasia (PPA), a condition that gradually steals a person's ability to speak and understand language. Researchers will compare three different types of brain stimulation (magnetic, electrical, or both) against a fake stimulation in 80 people with PPA. All participants will also receive language therapy to see if combining these approaches helps preserve communication skills longer.
