3-Day brain zap trial aims to calm debilitating 'False' seizures

NCT ID NCT07059325

Summary

This early study is exploring a new, intensive treatment approach for functional seizures, which are distressing episodes that resemble epileptic seizures but have a different cause. Researchers are testing if delivering magnetic pulses to a specific part of the brain over just 3 to 5 days is safe, tolerable, and might help reduce seizure frequency and improve quality of life. The study will enroll about 30 adults with diagnosed functional seizures to see if this fast-paced treatment is feasible for patients.
