Scientists zap brains to control breathing
NCT ID NCT01548586
Summary
This study explored whether gentle electrical brain stimulation could change signals to the main breathing muscle (diaphragm). Researchers tested three types of stimulation on 12 healthy young men to see how they affected muscle responses. The goal was to gather basic knowledge to potentially help patients with weakened breathing muscles in the future.
