Gentle brain zaps tested to ease Autism's social struggles

NCT ID NCT05492032

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique can help reduce core symptoms of autism in teenagers. Researchers will give 150 adolescents with autism a series of gentle electrical stimulation sessions to see if it improves their social skills, thinking abilities, and emotional control. The goal is to see if this treatment provides lasting benefits and if occasional 'booster' sessions help maintain improvements.
