New brain device offers hope for autism symptoms in children

NCT ID NCT07276555

Summary

This study is testing whether a noninvasive brain stimulation device can safely improve core symptoms of autism in children. Researchers will enroll 256 children aged 3-12 with mild to moderate autism who use some spoken language. Half will receive real treatment sessions and half will receive placebo sessions, with neither families nor assessors knowing which is which, to see if the active treatment leads to greater improvement in social communication and behavior.
