Zapping the brain with sound to quiet ringing ears

NCT ID NCT04551404

Summary

This study tested a new non-invasive therapy for chronic tinnitus, the perception of ringing or buzzing in the ears. Researchers combined two techniques: gentle electrical brain stimulation (tRNS) and listening to white noise. The goal was to see if this combination could temporarily reduce how loud and bothersome the tinnitus felt for participants.
