New combo therapy aims to control brain tumors in lung cancer patients

Summary

This study tests a new treatment for people with a specific type of lung cancer (EGFR-mutated) that has spread to the brain and causes symptoms. It combines whole-brain radiation (with protection for memory areas) and a daily targeted pill called osimertinib. The goal is to see if this approach can better control brain tumors while preserving quality of life. About 74 participants will be enrolled.
