Scientists watch brain oxygen in sitting surgery to prevent strokes
NCT ID NCT07270341
Summary
This study aims to understand how well a special brain oxygen monitor works during shoulder surgeries where patients are positioned sitting up. Researchers will observe 40 patients to see if readings from this monitor match up with standard vital signs and blood tests. The goal is to learn if this monitor can better spot patients at risk for low brain oxygen, especially those with conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure.
