Doctors track brain pressure and oxygen during keyhole surgery
NCT ID NCT07264764
Summary
This study observed 50 patients undergoing laparoscopic abdominal surgery to understand how the procedure affects brain pressure, oxygen levels, and thinking skills. Researchers used eye ultrasound and forehead sensors to monitor brain changes during surgery, then tested memory and thinking before and after. The goal was to gather information that might help prevent temporary thinking problems some patients experience after surgery.
