New trial tests best way to zap large brain tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT07329634
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a single, high-dose radiation treatment before surgery works better than multiple smaller radiation doses alone for people with large brain metastases. About 98 adults with tumors between 2.5 and 6 cm will be randomly assigned to one of the two approaches. The goal is to see which method reduces the chance of the tumor coming back, causing radiation-related brain damage, or spreading to the lining of the brain.
