Can we skip brain radiation? major trial tests new approach for lung cancer
NCT ID NCT05236946
Summary
This study aims to find out if patients with a specific type of lung cancer and silent brain metastases can safely delay or avoid brain radiation. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive standard upfront brain radiation or to be closely monitored while taking their targeted cancer pills. The goal is to see if careful monitoring works just as well while avoiding the potential side effects of radiation.
