First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study will use brain scans (fMRI) to see if long-term jaw pain from TMJ disorders causes changes in the brain. Researchers will compare brain activity in 60 adults with chronic TMJ pain to look for patterns linked to anxiety or depression. The goal is to understand these brain changes so doctors can develop better, more targeted treatments in the future. Participants will not receive any treatment as part of this study.
