Brain mapping may sharpen radiation for tumor patients

NCT ID NCT07415668

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study explores whether a brain mapping technique called navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) can help doctors plan radiation more precisely for people who had surgery for brain tumors near the movement-control area. About 30 adults will have their motor brain areas mapped, and researchers will compare standard radiation plans with ones adjusted using the map. The goal is to see if the map-based plan can deliver high radiation to the tumor while reducing exposure to healthy brain tissue that controls movement.
