Scientists probe Diabetes' hidden link to brain decline
NCT ID NCT07374705
Summary
This study aims to understand why people with diabetes have a higher risk of dementia and cognitive decline. Researchers will examine 150 people (with type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and healthy controls) to see if a condition called 'brain insulin resistance' and blood vessel damage in the brain are key factors. Participants will undergo brain MRI scans and a series of thinking and memory tests to measure brain function and health.
