Scientists search for clues to protect young brains during heart operations
NCT ID NCT06899971
Summary
This study aims to understand if certain proteins in the blood can signal brain injury in children and teenagers undergoing heart surgery. Researchers will measure these proteins in 100 patients under 18 years old who need surgery using a heart-lung machine. The goal is to find early warning signs that could help doctors better monitor and protect brain health during these complex procedures.
